Biography
North Twin's debut full length record releases on March 16 2007. On top of spending their first year as a band recording the record, they went from their first show as an opener on a Wednesday night at the Tractor Tavern to headlining weekend shows at the Tractor and the Highdive and booking opening slots with touring national acts like Son Volt at the Showbox Theater. They've been added to KEXP's rotation with great response.
North Twin began their formation when Tony Fulgham played five songs for Rebecca Young over the din of the very loud furnace in her basement. The formation was completed when Tony and Rebecca managed to hunt down and incapacitate Tim DiJulio and Rick Cranford. Tony's been telling lies for as long as he can remember. He found out that if you call them "stories" and play guitar while you're telling them, then people don't seem to get quite as upset. Rebecca left some great gigs behind when she moved to Seattle from New York. Long River Train, eo and many more. She came west for mysterious reasons she has yet to share but it had something to do with her upright bass and a motorcycle. Tim is a dyed in the wool Seattle boy. He made a name for himself as the lead guitarist for the late, great Lazy Susan/Kim Virant Band. There's been projects since, but the previously mentioned incapacitation has made North Twin his next band. Rick's another transplant from the east but he's been in Seattle long enough that you can't tell. Tony and Rebecca stalked him after his last band, The Radio Nationals, broke up.
They've all been around the block and left a trail of dead and a pile of broken hearts. Now they've found eachother and their stories are worth your time.
Pulling from their love of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elvis Costello, Thin Lizzy, The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits and Johnny Cash, their sound is unadulterated and honest.
They choose cold, damp and dark as their home. They make music out of mud.
North Twin is wrapping up their first record and continuing to share the stage with fantastic bands like The Drams and The Bottlerockets.
